Gamers and Gaming
I will be the first to tell you that a boy needs more video games like a hole in the head. They are expensive, they make us angry, and they are time eaters. But video games are also story driven puzzles for the brain to conquer. They want to immerse the player in an electronic world of choices, consequences and heroism.
That is why I choose Utomik as my back drop for writing about video games. Utomik is like a library of video games ranging from early 90’s to present day. They have hidden gems and triple A titles. I don’t have to own these games I can just borrow them and play them on my semi-fancy laptop. Besides, in this consumer generation it is so easy to accumulate a pile of games that you don’t have any idea what to do with. Utomik is a good subscription service and helps to scratch that trigger finger itch.
Sharing my video game love is one purpose, but that is not the true aim. I have longed to share my faith and spiritual love of God as a Christian through this art medium. Games are temporary time killers in a world that loves entertainment, but I truly believe the eternal truth that can be extrapolated from them is far more of value. You might not be a Christian, but I hope we can bond over a love of shooters, RPG’s and puzzles. Maybe along this journey we can teach each other something new. Enjoy.
